Ports Price Monitoring
The Commission has decided to publish an annual series of ports price monitoring reports under the price monitoring regime applying to Essential Maritime Services.
The purpose of these reports is to provide South Australian port customers and the community with information regarding certain port costs at South Australian proclaimed ports.
Readers should note that the 2005 and 2006 reports provides an indication of comparative port costs in South Australia and at nominated Australian ports over time, but do not make detailed adjustments to normalise for each of the various port differences.
Commencing with the 2008 report, the Commission will continue to monitor prices of Essential Maritime Services by focusing on trends in the prices, rather than seeking to benchmark prices against other ports.
